Excellent location and value.
There were many things I enjoyed about the hotel, but my favorite was the sounds of nature in the hallways and elevators.
It was hard to discover what the hotel offers. Some examples of this were the Hotel bikes guests could us, how to use the air conditioner and some of the nuances of the room.
The hotel is very new. You may or may not like the design. THe room was not particularly large but nicely fitted out, very clean and functional. The room itself was very good value for the money. The location on Potsdamer Platz is excellent. The road outside the hotel was quiet, there was some green in front of it. Lots of places nearbly to eat (including breakfast) and good access to public transport. We actually drove there and parked in the hotel car park without any problem.
While the room was good value, the breakfast certainly wasn'T. At 20 euros a head and with Jamie Oliver's name on it, we were expecting something special. It turned out to be like the ikea restaurant in Hamburg on a Saturday morning but at four times the price. There was no table service. It was difficult to find a clean, cleared table to sit down at. Hot drinks could only be obtained from two machines, so there was at times a queue of 5 people waiting for coffee. The breakfast selection was ok and presumably organic but did not stand out from any other chain hotel I have stayed in where the price would be more reasonable. The hotel also felt big in tems of layout and was not particularly easy to navigate. The lifts to the car park (which did not also go to the lobby) were also being used by staff when we were there as the staff lift was broken, so there was a long wait a couple of times. Again, when paying 22 euros daily for the car parking, this starts to become an issue.
We loved the location! The Scandic Potsdamer Platz was an easy 20-minute walk to Checkpoint Charlie, taking you past a long section of the Berlin Wall in its original location, plus several portions of the Berlin Wall Trail historic markers. Going north, the Brandenburg Gate is another very easy 20-minute walk, followed immediately by the Reichstag. Heading that way, you walk past the Memorial the Murdered Jews of Europe and are only a block from the historic marker showing the location of Hitler's bunker. Potsdamer Platz has a variety of things to do, including the Dali Museum, Sony Center (with original version movie theater), and many excellent restaurants. The hotel itself was fantastic-- comfortable, clean, and stylish. Secure parking was well-lit, clean, and safe, connecting directly to the hotel.
Parking at the hotel was relatively expensive (just a bit more than is listed on the Booked.net page), and was tight if you have an American- sized vehicle. We reserved a parking spot in our Booked.net comments, and were lucky to have done so-- parking was limited, and we got the last 2 spots.
The Scandic was awesome! The location was terrific and the room was outstanding. We traveled with our 4 kg Yorkie and they had bowls and a bed waiting for him. The hotel is next door to the U-Bahn and about five minutes from the S-Bahn. Near the theater district and close to shopping and restaurants. Likely the best hotel we have stayed at in Europe.
Parking was a bit steep at 22 euro per day. The hotel restaurant and bar was over priced, but there is a Lidl behind the hotel and many off sight restaurants.
v clean and comfortable.
The meal i had in the restaurant wasn't very good. The wardrobe is a bad design.
Brand new, so everything was working perfectly - Although it is only a few hundred meters from Postamer Platz it is in a very quiet and peaceful area. - Very good, free Internet in the room. - If you feel like training, the gym is very convenient and usually empty...
Having breakfast was more expensive than staying in this hotel!!
No user manual for the safe.
The location of the hotel was much better than we expected.Right in the heart of Berlin, the Tube station is basically the next door. The room was awesome, huge balcony I would rather say it was actually a terrace.Everything was just perfect.I Definitely recommend it.
Very central hotel.. Ubahn is nex tdoor.. Arkaden shopping mall and potsdamer platz are few minutes away. Clean hotel.. Friendly personnel... Also not expensive.. In sum, go and stay.
The staff are nice, the hotel is modern designed.
Excellent staff and hotel! New so everything is in order! Excellent comfort in room, all amenities! Subway station right next to hotel! 10 meters.
I really did not have to compare pricing with others in the area; however, I was told that other cheaper options can be found.
Excellent price/location. Reception staff made me most welcome and for the price this is an excellent place to stay in Berlin
Good location, friendly staff
There were no music channel on tv, basically not enough choices on the channels as a 4star hotel !!
